Ski Lake Louise
Powder Magazine's Resort Guide (The Inside Line on the Best Powder, Parks and Pubs) has come out with its list of the 45 best ski areas in North America for winter 2006 and both Banff and Lake Louise in Alberta are hailed as top picks. "Speckled with hot springs, sushi bars, dance clubs, as well as the mandatory mountain stream, Banff, Alberta defines the term 'ski town'" says the magazine. It suggests the best skiing in Banff is at Sunshine Village , the enviable home of Delirium Dive, a bowl consistently full of innumerable, powder-filled lines. Twenty minutes down the road is Lake Louise , "the biggest game in town in terms of skiing the Canadian Rockies," says the magazine. It recommends flying into Calgary International Airport, where shuttle service is available almost all the time between the airport and Banff, 95 miles (152 kilometres) east on Highway 1. Ski hill shuttles are equally easy to organize.
